Peter Lofthouse
Head Coach
Peter Lofthouse enters his forth year as Head Coach of Newport Harbor High School’s football team.
Coach Lofthouse, who turned 40 years old in April, comes to Harbor with over ten (10) years experience at the 4-year and community college levels. Most recently, Coach Lofthouse was the head coach at San Diego Mesa where he lead the Olympians in victory over Santa Ana College 37-34 in the Southern California Bowl Nov. 18, finishing 9-2 overall. The team went 3-7 in each of the previous two seasons under Lofthouse.
Before San Diego Mesa, Coach Lofthouse was an adjunct Physical Education-Football Coach/Instructor at Citrus College. He logged six years teaching/coaching at Citrus under veteran head coach Ron Ponciano.
Before his community college experience, Coach Lofthouse was at two four-year universities which include Baylor University and Texas Lutheran as a graduate assistant.
Coach Lofthouse holds a BA from Arizona State University and a Masters in Kinesiology from Baylor.
Coach is married to Katie and has a son, Zach.
