Head Coach

12 years total in football coaching. 5 years as a high school varsity and junior varsity assistant in Beaumont Texas at Kelly High School and 7 years as a youth head football coach, 2nd thru 8th grade, in Gurnee Illinois as a member of the Chicagoland youth football league.

Undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science (BS) in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in West Point New York, and a graduate degree Masters of Science in Business Administration (MSBA) from Boston University in Boston Massachusetts.

Divorced with 2 children, a daughter Lauren 33 and a son Grant 29, both living in the Chicago area.

Also, a 3 year letterman as a long snapper and defensive lineman in college at Division 1 Army West Point and a 3 year letterman as a center and linebacker at Troy High School in Fullerton, California.

Ryan O’Donnell is a cornerstone of Newport Harbor High School (NHHS), known for his unwavering dedication and positive demeanor. His commitment to the school community is evident in his role as the equipment manager, a position he has held with distinction for over 30 years.

Throughout his tenure, Ryan has been instrumental in ensuring that all sporting and educational events run smoothly, thanks to his meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills. His deep understanding of the school’s needs and his proactive approach in addressing them have made him an invaluable asset to both staff and students alike.
