Newport Harbors’ Colton Joseph (QB/sr) and Kashton Henjum (WR/jr) teamed up for three TDs while junior-sensation-do-everything Josiah Lamarque took a kickoff 99-yards for another TD and the visiting Sailors defeated Farrington High School in the Kalihi district of Honolulu on Friday night.
“It was a physical game and the defense played lights-out.” Coach Lofthouase said after the game.
The Tars defense, led by Carson de Avila (S/sr), Robby Crowell (LB/sr), Trace Werner (LB/sr) and Jacob Carlon (DE/jr) gave up very little yardage and left town after some very hard hits.
“It was also fun to see our best players show what they can do. We have some cleaning up to do this week to get ready for Marina,” Lofthouse added.
Our friends at SunsetRewind.com did a good job covering the event (watch the video, NHHS segment starts at around 17 minutes into the show).
The Sailors will travel to Westminster High School (Bowsell Field) this week (Thursday night, 7pm kickoff) to take on Marina High School. That makes it a short week since they just got back early Sunday morning (around 1am) and first day of school is Monday.
Get some rest and be ready to play on Thursday.
