Coach Mike Giddings’ Reunion was a Huge Hit.
“People are here from all over the country.” Jason Nedelman announced with microphone in hand, speaking to more than 100 former Newport Harbor football players that gathered at Original Pizza II in the Back Bay Center.
The evening was filled with Newport Harbor football videos in the background, yearbooks and newspaper clippings and the pride of The Long Grey Line.
From 1982 to 1985, Coach Giddings had Newport Harbor as one of the top teams in Orange County.
The event was also attended by newly hired head coach Peter Lofthouse and current Principal Sean Boulton.
Coach Lofthouse also gave some remarks,
“Coach, I read the bio and obviously know the stats of your great career. But all coaching stats and stories aside, seeing all of these men in one room to honor you tells me exactly who you are. Coaches dream about having an event like this one day.”
Congratulations to Coach Giddings… you are loved by Newport Football forever.
